Traffic Law
I handle moving and non-moving traffic violations in Johnson County, Kansas, Kansas City, Missouri, Olathe, Overland Park, Lenexa, Shawnee, Merriam, Prairie Village, Leawood, Roeland Park, Mission and Spring Hill.

Tax Law
Given the complexity of the tax code, this office provides tax expertise and code interpretation for individual income taxes, IRS 1040 returns, Schedule Cs for self-employed individuals, Schedule Es for rental incomes and business tax issues, including pass-through income for LLCs, partnerships and S corporations, filing IRS 1065, 1120 and 1120S tax returns for businesses, providing tax compliance and tax controversy representation for individuals and business clients, including Forms 433-A and 433-B, for the IRS, Missouri Department of Revenue and Kansas Department of Revenue issues, including Missouri and Kansas business taxes, sales taxes and Kansas City, Missouri earnings taxes.  Additionally, I assist clients in organizing not for profit corporations as well as applying to the IRS for 501(c) charitable organization status, including Form 1023.

Estate Planning Issues
This office is highly competent in providing advice and assistance in drafting and reviewing wills, last wills and testaments, living trusts, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney for financial purposes and livings wills and health care directives for individuals as well as fiduciary services plus business succession planning.  Michael P. Dreiling, Jr. was named a 2008 Kansas & Missouri Rising Star in Probate and Estate Planning.

Probate Law
The probate process can be simple or it can be complex depending on the statutory due process requirements and probate procedure for the various options to distribute a decedent’s assets pursuant to the Kansas Probate Code and the Missouri Probate Code.  I have a thorough understanding of the probate process and the procedures required for each option available to clients.   In addition to administering many probate estates in Johnson County, Kansas, Wyandotte County, Kansas, Miami County, Kansas, Douglas County, Kansas, Riley County, Kansas, Shawnee County, Kansas, Finney County, Kansas, Ford County, Kansas, Seward County, Kansas, Atchison County, Kansas, Leavenworth County, Kansas, Sedgwick County, Kansas and Jackson County, Missouri, Clay County, Missouri, Platte County, Missouri, Camden County, Missouri, Johnson County, Missouri, including supervised and informal and independent probate administrations, small estates, Determinations of Heirship and Determinations of Descent, I have been involved in complex litigation between heirs and beneficiaries. Additionally, this office offers competent legal assistance in conservatorship and guardianship matters in Kansas and Missouri.  Michael P. Real Estate / Landlord Tenant Law
This office assists both individual and business clients in Kansas and Missouri real estate sales, including buying and selling real property, both residential and commercial, mineral and gas interests, transfers of ownership interests, including quitclaim deeds, warranty deeds, special warranty deeds, beneficiary deeds, transfer on death deeds, title issues, disputes and foreclosures.

Business & Corporate Law
This office assists my clients in organizing C Corporations, S Corporations, Not for Profit Charitable Organizations, LLCs and Partnerships with the Kansas Secretary of State and Missouri Secretary of State, creating corporate books, obtaining federal tax identification numbers (FEIN or EIN), filing business entity annual reports, filing business tax returns, litigating income tax and sales tax disputes, litigating contractual disputes, drafting asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements, negotiating rental lease agreements and commercial lease agreements, Department of Labor unemployment claim disputes, and many other legal and government compliance issues confronting business owners in today’s world.  In the summer of 2016, I was enlisted to examine and has testified as an expert witness in a business valuation issue in a Leavenworth County dissolution of marriage case.  Additionally, during the same time frame, I was enlisted to examine and render an expert opinion on the breach of fiduciary duties by a successor trustee in a trust litigation case in Miami County.
